would I have to take those sponges out and use mesh from the craft store?

Also you never said how much media each reactor can hold. I need to know if it's big enough for my tank.:)

lynnmw1208- It will hold approximately 3 cups worth of media. so do keep in mind if you are going by weight, that will fluctuate with different types of media.

civiccars2003- yes this is a limited time price that is available only until monday.

lynnmw1208- forgot to answer you on the sponge question. the sponges that are included with this reactor, they are made to be actually used with it. you will not need to buy anything else besides your choice of media that you wish to use.

And in case anyone is wondering, here is the full list of things included with this item.
    1 Maxi-Jet 1200

    1 3/8" Swival elbow
    1 3/8" Flow control valve

    Kit comes assembled

So if you wanted to use biopellets, you would still use the sponges?

SAY- using the sponges for the bio-pellets would be a personal preference. if you want to you can, if you dont want to, you dont have to. the pellets shouldnt be able to escape the basket.

The "Maxi-Jet Adapter" is what exactly? I would think it would be a JG type coupling fitting, one side accepting 1/2" (Maxi-Jet side) and the other side 3/8" for the tubing. In essence, a 1/2" to 3/8" reducing JG fitting. Would I be correct?

    Thanks

you probably wouldn't want to use the sponges with biopellets, use a screen mesh like the stuff from the craft store instead... it's easy to cut and use, though.
