So i look at my tank today and realize theres starting to get a little bit of gha on the glass... and on one of my rocks (a very accessible one). Very small amount, its like one centimeter long. Just got my CUC today from reef cleaners... hoping that will help soon. My nitrates and nitrites are both reading 0 still though..

Ugh makes me mad cause i bought a frag from my LFS, and i saw a little bit on the disc, but figured it'd be ok, and my guess its spreading from that..

Should i take out the one rock that its on and scrub it, dip it in RO and put it back in???

What other creatures are good at eating that stuff, for a biocube 29

    thanks!!!

well, its simple...you have some excess nutrients in the water... GHA cant grow UNLESS their are too many nutrients in the water..

if it were my tank i wouldnt do anything but a couple water changes over the course of a week, also i would cut back a little on feeding and run my skimmer to skim a little more wet...

    1. make sure water is 0tds rodi water or your wasting your time and money on salt for waterchanges.
    2. use some GFO
    3. feed less
    4. you could cut back on lighting but it will come back as soon as u go back to your normal photoperiod, if you dont clean up your water
    5. rinse frozen food and drain it and just add the shrimps only, no juice

the water i am using is RO, I do not have a skimmer running because i was told that i shouldnt bother with one since its a biocube, otherwise Id have one.. I dont think i feed alot.. but i never rinsed my frozen food, so possibly its coming from that

You say a couple of water changes over the course of a week? Can you define? How much should I change, and how often?

And also, I should leave the rock alone that its on? and not scrub?

ALSO: Im currently running, Purigen, and Chemi Pure Elite

well chemipure elite has gfo so you should be good their..

im gonna put money on the frozen food,, start rinsing it and then draining it...

in a biocube i would do 2 10% waterchanges... one on monday and one on wednesday or thursday..

Take the one rock out, spray it with hydrogen peroxide, leave out for 3-5 minutes and the GHA on the rock will be gone it 2-3 days

Wow, that is seriously extreme for common GHA LOL. I guess if you don't mind potentially killing off some beneficial bacteria and causing a cycle then it could work...

I think GFO and turbo snails are probably a safer route, but that's just my .02.
