ghost shrimp keep dying

Hey I was wondering why my ghost shrimp keep dying. Im using the ghost shrimp to feed fuzy dwarf lion fish but every time I buy them half of the shrimp die per each dozen I get. Im currently keeping them in a 5 gal fish bowl with fresh water and an air stone. What can be the reason for the death so quickly ?

 

Poor quality or poorly-kept feeders. I only get my ghosties at one LFS because they get theirs from a different source than the other nearby LFSs and they also keep the tank clean. I buy their ghosties and usually lose very few, if any, but if I buy from the other stores, they rarely last 24 hrs.

I keep our feeders in a BB 10 gal with a HOB power filter and a heater in the winter. We gutload them with a couple of different marine flake foods.

 

Yeah the only thing I can think of is poorly kept one of the lfs I cant see where they are kept since they are in the back. It could be the water quality thats shortening their life so much
