well today i had some fun and came up with some nice layouts. I tried what you suggested but the right side had so much rock in it that i had barely any left to make a nice looking left side.

I did post 6 different layouts in the first post though, i'd be glad if you people can criticize it!
Personally i "think" i like 1 and 2 the most

Layout #2 is my favorite. You can really do some nice contrasting coral placement with that layout. I like the pillars, just not sure how stable they would be. Keep the pics coming.

I personally like the pillar scape .... check out mine, it's similar ... but remember you need enough space to place the corals.

thanks for your opinion. I like what you siad about contrast so i will give it a good thought.

As about the pillars, my thought was to drill through them, slide in an acrylic rod and then either use zip ties to secure the bottom piece on the eggcrate (not in the pics) OR use chloroform to glue a flat sheet of acrylic on the rod to make the whole structure stable

coral placement was my concern on the pillar scape. I guess i would have to use less coral with that layout Or find a way to reduce the pillar size. Any thoughts on that?

Another thing like Pelado said, if you go with the pillars, I think it's going to be a lot more difficult to place the corals. They look cool but you just have to think about what types of corals you want and how you're going to place them as well.

    @pelado
nice layout you have there. You seem to have lots of room for corals there
Lol somehow i wish my tank was deeper as i like the 3 pillars look

If i go with the pillar approach i guess i will have to use fewer corals

Here is a sort list of possible options (feel free to correct me or recommend anything else. Keep in mind that i have only 36W PC lighting atm and it will take a while until i make a led fixture)
    Mainly zoanthids
    pachyclavularia
tubastraea (not sure due to feeding reqs)
    Favia

    Also another question
I could remove one of the pillars, but what should i do with the space? I would rather not leave 2 similar pillars alone. If its one thing i learned from aquascaping is that you should avoid even numbers :p

opinion and thats al it is Giannis86 - as aesthetics are a matter of personal taste

I like scape 2 personally - I like the gradual decrease in size of the rock work from bottom to top - giving shelves to place corals

I do like the sketches you have done that include an arch/ bridge between the 2 rock pillars - as this would then give an additional location to place corals and create a darker area underneath where a sun coral or other cave/ overhang dweller might appreciate

as I said, its all about personal taste really and whatever makes you happy, is what you should go with.

    I appreciate you opinion steve.

I was also leaning more towards 1 and 2 but the main reason for asking you fellas is that i really couldnt make up my mind so i wanted some other opinions than my own

Anyway, I have reduced my options to 3
    Here are some pics

    Scape 2
If i go with this one i might do some adjustments. For a start i will try to reduce the size of the left formation. Hopefully i can make it look better.

Any thoughts of these? I love the look of scape 2 but i also like the cleaner look from scape 7 (scape 8 a bit less i guess). Bottom like my brain is stuck one more time LOL!!!;D;D

hmm they all look pretty neat, scape 2 would be good for zoas but there isn't really any flat spots for other things. So I guess 8?
