giant frilly shroom

i'm concerned about my giant frilly mushroom.its green with lavender polyps and is about 8 inches across.its always been happy and still looks happy.its on a tonga branch rock and today i noticed one of the branch stubs is poking through it.the hole is just off center.is it splitting?most shrooms that i've seen split,grew a 2nd mouth before splitting.mine seems to be splitting through the center starting at its mouth.its a beautiful coral so i'm pretty nervous.

 

Shrooms are so hardy I wouldn't even worry about it.
It might split itself, or it might heal :/ but if it doesnt have a 2nd mouth its probably going to heal

 

I would agree. Mushrooms can take a beating and still turn around to be healthy.

 

ok well the tongan branch is now completely through the center of my 8inch across mushroom.there is a hole about an inch around that i can see rock through.the rest of the mushroom looks normal maybe just a bit smaller than normal.i sooooo hope its splitting and not dying.this thing was expensive and hard to find.i'm trying to take you guys advice an stay calm about it though.

 

there was a happy ending.the 8 inch mushroom turned into 2 , 4 inch ones
