Hmm what do you guys think of these units. They are far more powerfull then the Teszla I was looking at. Aquatop USA Aquarium Reef 300w LED Light 50x6w LED Dual Control

The specs on this thing make it sound like it would rock, plus you can dim them. I would think 3 above my tank would work perfect since its 6 foot and 30 inches deep.

I don't know anything about them. If you are looking for a prebuilt fixture, everyone seems to love the eccotech Radion. I haven't heard a bad review for it. AI is supposed to be coming out with a "phoenix" (second generation to the sol I think). I would go out on a ledge and say both of these fixtures will be far superior to the one linked above

Im on the fence about these... Im leaning towards buying very soon 6-7 Maxspect Mazzara`s and was lucky enough to be at the store, to see a Teszla that a someone brought in, they are sharp looking well built units.

Didn't have a chance to play with the controls but they were testing the par with a meter. It was better than others they were testing but didn't hold up to the maxspect mazzara for par and overall look, out of the box too much on the white side for colour temp, but that could probably be changed.
Hopefully they will get some in before I`m ready for my lights so I can play with it to make my decision.
One thing they got to improve is the holding bracket. It needs to be more versatile / Flexible so you can direct it more, as it stands you are stuck installing it on the rim and that keeps it near the rear of the tank and quiet close to the water. if your tank is 24" wide or more the coverage is not great.

This is the first GEN so they will probably fix it with future versions.

IMHO Quality post. Various observations to form solid basis for opinion.
    Thanks. No nonsense.

    Re: Tesla
I find the fact that it is 100% German made and it's low price point a basis for further extensive review. A little more time will tell as user reviews start to trickle in and factory tweaks design. My LFS tells me that rare earth phosphorous bulbs are about to skyrocket in price as flat screens and apples use the same. I'm going out two years before I replace my Giesman T-5s (that's one more year left.) That's an extra year than normal, much will change (w/user feedback) with LEDs by then.
