    The average LS for a Betta in a bowl is 2 years so if it was already fairly large at purchase it could be just dieing from old age.:confused:

    I had a beta, Cyril was his name, he lived until he was almost 4 with me.
    Do u put any aquarium salt in the bowl ? Just pop half a T spoon into 4 litres of water and the cut will heal, can start off with 1/2 that amount for a week.
    Change the water every 2 days, make the fresh water with the aquarium salt in it.

    He wont be happy to start with, if you are Lucky u will have caught this in time, is there a gravel base in the bowl ? If so that should come out and be rinsed thoroughly before going back into the bowl.
