given skimmer and filter!!!!

    A friend of mine was told i wanted to set up a marine tank, so being a good friend gave me a skimmer and filter he got free when he bought a tank. i was just wondering wot advice anyone can give me on the 2 items.
    1: unistar external filter, top333-7
    2: seaclone protein skimmer

    this is my first marine set up so i dont have a clue if this is any good for what i need. any advice and recommendations would be grateful. thanks

    Never heard of the Unistar filter, but the Seaclone is junk IMO!! I think I know why he received the two as free gifts! My advice to you is not to use the Seaclone, but invest in the purchase of a efficient and effective skimmer, trust me...you will be glad you did!
    What size tank are these pieces of equipment to be used with?
    I would do some research and read about the many kinds of equipment available as well as the numerous companies that make these various types of equipment!
