I am getting 2 14k 250watt DE MH phoenix bulbs for for my 120 gallon tank. I want to give my coral a glowing look without making the water a dark blue. Do I need to put actinic on the tank to do this or could I put on some 48'' actinic bulbs on the tank with a cheap ballast? Any and all info would be awesome. I need something to do because I am stuck at the college for 12 hours total today, my car broke down on tuesday so I have no car and my ride bailed on me so I have to wait till 9pm to get a ride, needless to say I have been here since 9am and my last class ended at 3pm next one isnt till 630pm

sorry I am very tired, I meant could I just go with the phoenix bulbs to get this color or do I have to have actinic to get this look, and if so can I use a cheap ballast with actinic bulbs, and where can I find the cheap ballast for the bulbs.

You should be able to find an inexpensive 2 bulb T5 fixture on eBay and run actinincs to supplement your MH.

The 14k is still going to make your colors pop... It's all about preference so I would recommend puttin on the 14k bulbs first and then seeing how you like it... Then adding more if you need to
