Baffles for a sump ? The aquarium silicone or other will more than hold in place, if thats the question.

Need paint tape to hold it in place while it drys though.

Heck, It has to dry first. Shoot, its the same that holds the 5 pieces of glass together i think. certainly can handle a low pressure wall in a baffle.

I would suggest testing the seal prior to using first though.

Once dried, add water to the small chamber on one side of the baffle and see if any water leaks out.

I wish I did this. Not a major deal, but you will know if it's true.

    Cheers

ah, thanks for the water tip, will do.

lol, i just thought it would hold better than it was, but i admit to being impatient...i shouldnt have any problems then. I also have then slightly angled and kinda wedged in, and they werent holding as well as i thought they should, thats why i initially posted...now i have to wait 24 hours...!!!!!!

Make sure you get 100% silicone I had a guy use some other to reseal a tank and we decided finally that was what was killing his fish. Not sure what is in the other but thats was the only thing left it could be.

It seems nobody's addressed a key point in answering your question. Silicone will hold glass superbly--as long as it's holding it to glass. If your sump is acrylic, you'd use acrylic baffles and a glue like Weld-On. If glass, you'd use glass baffles and silicone.

    Happy reefing. :)
