I use a natural based cleaner that also cuts grease. Spray it onto a paper towel and it cuts the greasy saltwater w/o smearing. then go back over w/a soft cloth.

I was wondering about that, since I have noticed a lot of "natural" based cleaners. I have tried using just water on a paper towel but it just seems to leave a streak or blur and wanted to know if there was a way to use a cleaner and not hurt the tank. Spraying it onto the towel is a great idea.

I take every cleaner the same, just because it says "green" on the bottle doesn't always mean safer.

    I swear it's a marketing ploy. Just m2c

Same here, except I use tap water and always dry it with a paper towel. Never had a smear.

I figure if you spray the towel away from the tank and then wipe it can't hurt your tank inhabitants.

Plus if you spray the cleaning cloth and not the item you're cleaning you use less product and it is dryer after cleaning.
