Little tufts of algea and diatoms are growing on my glass. Are there any FISH that clean glass similar to a freshwater pleco(sucker fish)?

to my knowledge there arent any that will do that. some wil lpeck at it. snails are probably the closest thing to clean the glass. but they still leave trails. mag floats and a bit of elbow grease with a scraper are the best.

snail will be the only thing that gives the same quality cleaning.

Really, i remember, when i went to jamaica, i picked up a small stone out of the water and there was a fish sucked onto the bottom and it looked very similar to a pleco. nothing like that you know of?

no i guessing it wasnt very colorful, so it probably wouldnt be sold to hobbiest.

also are you sure its mouth was the sucking part and not its belly like a remora. i have seen some small fish like remoras with a sucking bottom before(caught by hobbiest not sold at a store)

2 of the species that i have that will clean the display parts of my tank are zebra snails , probably not the right name but thats what they called them at the store and mexican half moons. the half moons are quite large tho.

    turbo, astrea.

a good bunch of zebra turbo snails. they eat alot and are bigger so fish might have more trouble cracking shells.
