glass or acrylic

    Depends on where you live and what chances you like to take. A large glass tank is not wise in California for if the earthquake shakes the right way your panels can slide right off.

    Acrylic scratches, but it can be buffed out without disturbing any of the inhabitants. With glass... you are stuck for life.

    Acrylic is clearer, but it bows in time to cause distortion.

    Glass is cheaper. Acrylic is lighter.

    There are many many different arguments and what it comes down to is what things are important to you.

    I have 13 tanks at the moment - half glass, half acrylic.... I like them both for different reasons.
