    Hi All,

In a few weeks (once I get my nitrates back down) I'm planning on adding one more small fish to my tank. I'm having a really hard time deciding, but I'm thinking some type of goby. Here's what I'm thinking, and if you could provide your opinions, personal experience, etc. I would be very grateful! I want a peaceful, easy to feed, healthy, etc. fish.

Hector's Goby - love, but guy at fish store told me they aren't very hardy or easy to keep...but i've read differently online...?

Court Jester Goby - know nothing about, but love the looks

Neon goby (probably gold) - adorable! But worried too small and shy...

I have a Springer's damsel, oscellaris clown, royal gramma and red head elegant pseudo. I want a fish that won't be too bullied by these guys. All are middle of the tank swimmers except the pseudo, who mostly hangs out in the rocks.

    Thank you!!

Are you super attached to the damsel?

ide get a diamond watchman goby. They are very passive fish, yet once they establish a little bit of "tank" they dont take **** from any fish, no matter how big, but yet wont attack another either, unless enticed. I have had one since shortly after my cycle, and had 2 blue damsels that tried pestering him, didnt work out to well for them. Hes my favorite fish!!

I'm a big fan of the yellow watchman goby, definitely my favorite fish. Real easy to care for.

I really do like him, and he isn't mean (really!). He doesn't take crap, but he doesn't attack either. I've never seen him nip or chase. My clown is kind of mean, but calms down a few days after a new addition and every now and then has a fin nipping escapade. At the moment the damsel is not an issue, but if he does become one, I will deal with it then. But for now, he's a good tank mate!

I really like those, they are fun to watch. Are they hard to feed, because they hang out on the bottom?

Haha I do like a little bit of 'tude! Those are really neat looking, but would it get too big for a 37? On liveaquaria.com the minimum tank size is 50 gallons.

I feed them flakes and shrimp. The shrimp usually makes it to the bottom easily, the flakes I wet a little so they sink. I have a 24 tall and he eats quite well even with the 3 other fish getting most of the food at the top. He also sifts the sand for food as well.

Oh, that would be really good to get a fish that would help clean the substrate! Thanks a lot for the info. I'll do some online research on the guy!

I have two yellow clown gobies, and they are great. The have a great personality. At feeding time , they are the first ones to come swimming at me and grab some mysis shrimp right out of my fingers. They are colorful and playful, and a great addition to any tank.
