I absolutely love those because I think they are so cute and full of personality, but when I asked a couple LFS guys they said the clown goby would be too freaked out by my other fish and it probably wouldn't be a good fit.

What fish do you have with your clown gobies? If it would work for me, that would be nice!

the diamond goby loves sifting the sand also. He keeps mine spotless!!! They do get a pretty decent size, and I think they say minimum 50 gallon tank because he likes room to swim and sift. Ill have to do some more research on them. Mines in a 125

Thanks a lot for the info. I will do some online research on the diamond. They are really neat looking!

At first I didn't want a fish that hangs out on the bottom, but after getting more into the hobby I've discovered that those fish are really neat and fun to watch. Now I really want one!!

I'd say you're already at your limit on what you can keep in 37 gallons.

Do you know what caused your nitrate problem? Might be too much fish as it is.

I would have to agree with Peredhil, 4 fish in a 37 is about the max.

Well all my fish are really small right now and I plan on upgrading within a year or so...so I think one more would be okay.

I have to advise against a Diamond Goby in that tank. They have really big appetites; they sift sand all day because they EAT all day. For that matter, you should avoid any sand sifting species. Stick to snails for your sand maintenance.

Clown gobies have never made it very long in my tank. I stopped buying them. But that might just be personal experience.

The watchman goby is probably your best choice. They remain fairly stationary near or within their cave. The symbiotic relationship they form with a pistol shrimp is pretty cool to see in your tank. It almost makes the little ecosystem more real.

Im a fan of the court jester. Once he ate my algae, he cruises the tank sifting sand and eating pods. One thing tho - I'd make sure to stock the tank with copepods. Mine won't eat anything (live brine, flake, pellets, frozen anything) else but algae and pods.

Thanks for the tips. I think court jesters are gorgeous, but I think if I add another fish I'll go with a yellow watchman. I've been wanting a yellow fish, and I like that it will mostly hang out at the bottom. Just worried about it getting food, but I'm sure it will be fine!

If/when I get another one I'll let you all know, and with a picture of course!

Thank you everyone for your help!
