That's what I thought. Someone else here tried putting one in a new tank (<6 months) and it died too.

I think it is important to have a mature sand bed if you are going to add a goby. They need it, or it seems they will get skinny and die, especially if the supplemental food isn't working.

Next time, try to figure out what happened before rushing out and getting another fish right away. ;)

Got your Dad into it, eh? Good move... [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

some fish you need a mature tank for. this is one thing to check out before buying. mature being at least 6 mths to a year. depending on the fish some types should be added at certain times not all fish are beginner fish.

I posted this little goby in the gallery this evening. Her name was Squirt, and she was one of our favorite fish. You should go read the story about her in the gallery. I'm not going to give it away here.

    Indonesian Shrimp Goby Id

    Hi there,

Sorry if i'm going about this wrong but i need help identifying this shrimp goby and a web search of forums bought me here. This is an image taken from my video from a recent trip to the coral reefs off of Manado Indonesia. Does anyone know exactly what this shrimp goby is. Its like several in the fish id books by the eye band and fin detail is different.
