I would just skip another, unless it's already eating prepared.
Plus there are endless pistol shrimp and shrimp goby combos.

    2 Options to me....
    1. microfauna
    2. Certain snails, like small conchs, but make sure you can keep them properly.

The major misconception here is that he could thrive on it just because he ate it. Far too often, that's not the case at all- some fish will eat whatever is available, but they are slowly dying from malnutrition because it doesn't contain the same proteins and nutrients found in their natural diet. Regardless of what one may eat, sleeper gobies thrive on sandbed infauna.

FTR- I made the same mistake a few years ago; I thought my diamond goby would be fine because he ate frozen clam and squid. He did manage to survive about 5 months... :-/

I forget, pretty sure you need a good amount of sand, and if they need it, a little supplemental feeding.

Oh, I see! I didn't even think to include this as a possibility. Well, I'm probably going to stay away from sleeper gobies, since I didn't like my last one too much, and because my last one couldn't survive. Maybe I'll try another in 6+ months.

On an unrelated note to gobies, I was looking to getting a clam (though not without doing research first). So I might as well ask a few questions I have right here!

    1. What do they do?
    2. What do they eat?
    3. How much light do they need?

    1. Quite a lot lol
    2. JMO make sure they're in good lighting, if you think it'll help, feed some zooplankton.
