goby pistol shrimp combo questions

do certain gobys and pistols do better together ? if so what shrimp would go best with a diamond goby ?

 

I'm not sure that Diamond gobies (genus Valenciennea) are the type of goby that pairs with pistol shrimp.

I believe naturally there are certain types of pistol shrimp that pair with gobies, based on location probably. However, I'm not aware of a list of which gobies pair with which shrimp.

Diamond's will NOT usually pair up with a shrimp. The most common is the Yellow Watchmen Goby and Pistol Shrimp combo. You can readily get these already paired. Most of the gobies that are considered "watchman" can usually be paired except those that are sand sifters, like the diamond. Just as important, is to make sure the shrimp you get will pair up. Some don't. I personally have an aurora goby with a pistol shrimp and they are a fantastic addition to the tank.
