I am new to saltwater and I am wondering if I can mix gobies?

    My set up is:
    Fluval Osaka 260L (70g)
    100 lbs of live sand
    70 lbs of live rock
Fluval 406 canister filter (in process of getting a sump)
    2 hydro koralia 1400 powerheads

    Current livestock:
    2 true perculas
    1 blue/green chromis
    1 lawnmower blenny
    2 skunk cleaner shrimp
    4 turbo snails
    4 electric blue hermit crabs

I want to add some sort of shrimp with a pistol shrimp. Would this work?
Would I be able to add any other gobies? Or would they fight?

Liveaquaria.com has them broken down into 3 categories
    - sand sifter gobies
    - shrimp gobies
    - small gobies

Would I be able to add one goby from the shrimp goby section and one from sand shifting without having problems?

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to 3reef Ryan.

If I were you I would stay away from the Sleeper Gobies or Sand sifters.

Gobies can very territorial, for that reason I would attempt to get a pair over mixing types.

You can also add the Clown Gobies as they are not burrowers and rather perch on corals and rock work.

So clown gobies would be fine? What about the lawnmower blenny? Would that have a problem with anything?

No a Lawnmower would be fine, just remember they are big algae eaters.

The sandsifters tend to dump sand all over corals, cause cloudiness when really active and unfortunate slowly starve to death. The sand sifters belong in large, very well established tanks.

I am fond of the Yellow Watchman Gobies.

    Orange spotted goby
    Orange stripe prawn goby
    Yellow watchman goby
    Pink spotted watchman goby

Those are the ones I am looking at to pair with a pistol shrimp.

Would a clown goby be fine with the lawnmower blenny? Since they stay on the rocks.

Yes, you may not seen a lot of the Clown Goby. I had a few in a 28 gallon tank and went weeks without seeing them, they hide in rocks and corals very well.

Any of the other Gobies listed would be fine with a Pistol. Try to get the Pistol and the Goby at the same time.

My lfs is getting a new shipment of fish in on Wednesday. I'll see if they get any in. I was planning on getting them at the same time.

Would the pistol shrimp be fine with the cleaner shrimp?

    Ok.
What about a court jester goby? I am just trying to figure out exactly what I want in the tank.
