    Tanks specs-
    Finnex m-tank 22 gallons
    tunze protein skimmer
2 phos ban reactor (rowaphos) (carbon)

    livestock

    hammer/frogspawn/duncan/gsp/ricordia rock
    2 naked clowns/ 1 flame hawk fish

Got some rock from reefcleaners.org that is now in a bucket of saltwater after i cleaned it off in ro/di. There is no die off on this rock. My starboard comes in today and probally next week i will convert to bare bottom tank. I will be using 5 lbs of existing rock since it is covered in gsp and rics and the rest will be the new dry rock (15 pds).

so after i empty out the sand and place the starboard and reefcleaners rock is it safe to add back my corals and fish?

My advice would be to empty all the livestock/rock into a rubber maid temporary container. Then get as much water as possible out without disturbing the sand. Try and get right to the sand level or as close as possible. Then get all the sand out and dump the remaining water out. Put in the new starboard and rock, fill it up with the existing tank water and add the inhabitants. If done correctly and you do not disturb the sand bed all should go well. You will probably need to add some new saltwater but just think of it as a water change.... sort of. Hope this helps.
