Tomorrow's task is to run an ethernet cable to my tank....

Getting a serial to ethernet converter for the AC Jr, but setting it up so that if I upgrade to an Apex down the road, it is already there.... but then while I am there.... my DirectTV DVR can stream over the net if I hook it up and my XBox 360 and the Wii.... they are all right there in the family room.... may as well get them all.

Kind of funny... I am a major geek at work... actually designed the first system for streaming live HDTV over the internet from the International Space Station a few years back.... but at home don't have any of that stuff hooked up. My kids will be thrilled... my wife will laugh at me... ;)

    Going geek...

    :)I like that part best.

Encase you were wondering...there is a free application another "geek" coded himself & it is available for free download for the AC Jr. I've posted a thread about it. Take a look in my threads. While I have never used it myself(I don't have a controler, yer;)), I'd like to. (Here's a link...)http://sites.google.com/site/acserial2web/

Cool to be able to have the Ethernet to all the living room "appliances". Quite convenient. ;)

    LOL... nice. I love geek.

I want to have a live feed of my tank someday. Complete with pan a zoom controlled by the accessing user.

Web enables AquaController Jr. economically, all you need is a computer to install the software on that runs when you want to have remote access, and a serial (wired or bluetooth wireless) connection from the AquaController Jr. to the computer.

That line is the only issue I have with it. I want the remote access for when I travel. I don't want to have to leave a system up and running just to access my controller.

Good Move..and when you go to the Apex you're gonna be so glad you ran that cable.

There are apps for you phone to log on and control everything connected to the Apex....its awesome.

It even emails you when things get above or below certain thresholds you set.

    Worth every penny.
