Going out of town for 2 weeks

test your pumps to make sure they will come back on after a power failure. also check that your timers don't screw up after a power loss. i try not to change or clean too much right before leaving. maybe just a water change. things seem to go wrong after we tinker with things. I travel every week and leave mine in my wife's care. I know how stressful it is. good luck and have fun.

 

Definitely clean all the pumps before hand, also, clean the skimmer, and have the food pre portioned out.


I didn't see if you had an ATO, but if you do, make sure extra TO water is available and have her check the reservoir at least 2x while you are gone.

if the skimmer cup gets full in a week, show her how to clean it. And have her clean it half way of the time before you get back.

Doing a bigger water change beforehand will make that a non issue 2 weeks is nothing provided top off water is added one way or another.

Think about anything that could go wrong, and have a list of a plan of action. At worst, have her call you, and if that's not an option, find another local reefer that she can call or have come over if need be.
