Wow...don't forget tank top off needs, especially if warm.

There are some really easy ways to set up a system to do so...

Do not use those feeding sticks...you will return to a mess in your tank if you do.

Most aquarium inhabitants can easily go a week without feeding in an established tank.

I would pay someone at LFS if need be, to check in on tank at least once while you are gone.

    Good Luck!

(am glad you and not me, esp this time of year....:-/)

temp shouldnt be too much of a problem because my tanks are in the basement which stays at around 70 degrees even in the dead heat of summer, also in the cold of winter, prevents alot of issues, what do you mean about the top off?

    Sorry...replacing evaporated water...

Letting water level fall below pump intakes, you are going to loose tank...:-[

Do what I did. I mixed up some dry food for each day, and my mother-in-law fed the fish.
I'll admit I was worried about the tank getting too hot, though. They turned on the A/C on the hot days too for us.

I wouldn't worry that much, as mentioned before if it is only a week just about any inhabitant should be fine without food. I would have someone check in on the tank, anyone would do. Just show them around for a minute and tell them the few things they need to watch for. Then have them CALL YOU AND NOT DO ANYTHING if they feel something requires attention. I really like Bogie's idea of feeding, anyone could handle that. You'll be ok, don't ruin your trip because of it!!

I would tie a piece of romaine lettuce to a rock with rubber bands and would not feed the rest of them. I travel 4 days a week and only feed my larger fish tangs and angels while I am gone. Making sure you have enough water for evaporation is the most important.

I agree that it will do no harm to not feed for a week , I have been away from my tank for the last month and the only thing to realy worry about is getting the top off correct befor to leave. I think if you feed the 3 days straight before to leave they will be fine for the week .
dont worry about dosing as you wont be testing whats being dosed ( do it when you get back)
    Happy holidays
