You can drill a drain from the collection cup to drain into a separate container. The Remoras have an drain fitting option, so if you look at those, you can get an idea of where/how to do it. IF you do decide to do it, make sure you use an acrylic/plastics safe drill bit. When I leave for a week, I usually top off my water before I go and fill it to the max I can safely do it. I probably can't do that now with my fuge though, darn I have a vacation in June coming up. Looks like I have to save up for an ATO too.

Good luck, cause you will need it. When we first got started we would have to make trips for over a week. Now years later we still cant leave w/o having someone stay home or have a trusting person come over. I cant leave because my wife cant even be trusted with what to do. When I do leave she still has someone come over to help her. We have lost to much in the past for us not to know better. Everyone has the same opinion..

yes I'm on business travel now for two weeks. I've asked my parents to stop in this weekend. I've got everything set up except for a ATO but it can usually go a week without topping it off. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I just hope there isn't a power failure or something. Hope they're waiting when I get home.

My ATO can only hold about 3 gallons. Before I go on vaction next time I'll buy a big 18 gallon Rubbermaid storage container drill a hole and fittings and plumb it to my ATO. Since its gravity fed I'll have to put it on some sturdy chairs above my fuge and fill it up. That way I can leave for a week or more.
