I have two black and white false perculas, cleanup crew, cleaner shrimp, frogspawn, basically the whole set up for my tank. My tank has been going for 6 months and has been fairly stable. I feed my fish some mysid and flake out of a turkey baster every day as much as they can eat in a short amount of time. I am going away for a week and my roomate is going to be feeding them only flake food that i portion out. How many portions should i make for this week? Should i cut feeding back to make sure not overfed or just feed every day i am gone?

Just don't feed them , It won't harm them to pick around and clean up the tank. Or you will come home to a mess . I don't feed mine when I go away .. eating and daily hunger is a human concern not a animals hell they may go more then a week in the wild between feedings thats why by nature all animals will eat till the get sick . its instincts and why the fish charge the aquarium every time they see you come near . They have you trained to think they are starving I feed my tanks about 3 times a week and only flakes and a pinch then..

I'd only have him feed 2 or 3 times while you are gone. Fish can go a week, without eating, without any adverse effects.

When I take off I just make sure my auto top-off supply of RO/DI water is full and cross my fingers...
