You should also definitely get a thermometer of some sort, temperature is a hugh deal with aquariums, you really need to know what the temp of the water is so you can make adjustments if necessary.

As others have said, a battery operated air pump will probably do much to keep your livestock alive. As for the cycle, a 48 hour delay wouldn't be the end of things, but if you have no corals then water flow isn't absolutely critical. Thing is; the bacteria that are developing in your tank to combat ammonia and nitrites are aerobic, meaning they must have oxygen or they may die off.

If you put a bubbler in the tank you should be fine for two days, I wouldn't sweat it much. I'm guessing for this period of time that heat would be your enemy more than cold, right? If that's the case, and you don't have a chiller on the tank, then the temperature fluctuations should not be much different than they are when you do have power. Of course, your house will be considerably hotter inside, but again, without corals, the tank temp rising to ambient (maybe 83 degrees or so??) probably won't kill anything.

I think you'll be OK, Puffer Chick. :)

ok, i don't think my neighbors will let me run a line from there house, and for the skimmer i think i will leave it turned off then and at least setup so that it's ready to go for when i have fish in the tank

yea that was on my to get list, does it matter what kind of thermometer i get for the tank, i have one of those stick on the tank ones for my 20 gall, and i really don't want a stick on the 46 cause it would take away from the tank

Get a BIG UPS power backup and run your low power (like Koralias) powerheads on that.
