Do you have an actual defense? Most likely, you'll show up, they'll give a few points, not the maximum and you'll go home. It'll probably take 10 min. It also depends if the cop shows up.

I always take my lawyer, he charges me for 75% the price of the ticket and always gets it erased. Except for one time, but he didn't charge me and I only had to do defensive driving..

If without a lawyer, a lot of times a judge likes to hear your case if youre willing to give it it him in a respectful manner and will work with you.

"Yes sir" "No sir" They see respect less and less these days, so they truly do appreciate it.

they go much lighter on you if you have a good driving record - oh yeah and dress in a suit/dress whichever appropriate. and do the "your honor", "Yes your honor" "no your honor" thing. stand up straight and beg for mercy clearly. :)

Oh, and dress nice. Im not kidding it helps. It shows you have respect for your self and the state. Im not kidding. Look clean shaven, well groomed, and dress 20 years older than your age(you are 21). Even if its not your thing to get dressed up, I know a lot of people dont care, but it really send signals of respect and trustworthiness. Also maintain eye contact with the judge, they like this..

I speak on this because one of my long time friends dad is a judge and he gave me and all of our friends pointers when we got in trouble back in High School.. It always works better in your favor..

i can make a case using some math and the human reaction time for VASCAR to put me within the limit but I dont think i want to "waste" the judges time with that stuff...

im thinking I will ask for a 3111 subsection because that is only a fine and drops the points
