I have a massive problem with Flat Worms. I have tried everything, wrasse, blacking out the tank for 2 days with a light shining in an opening to attract them and they syphoning them out and they just keep coming. They were introduced by some live rock from the LFS a couple of months ago. I have even cut feedings down to once a day. They have totally taken over the tank.

Today I am doing nothing but prepping 5 buckets of saltwater, with a couple of fresh. I have tons of carbon on standby also.

My plan is to remove all of the live rock and place it into a ten gallon bin with tank water and a power head and treat the rock with Flat Worm Exit.
Then before placing it back into the tank scrubbing and rinsing with clean saltwater.

I plan on removing all the live stock (2 clowns, damsel, dotty back, chromis, and coral banded shrimp) into my QT Tank during the treatment.

As for my two pieces of rock that have polyps and zoo's on them I will dip them in water that has the Flat Worm Exit.

As the tank goes through the process I will syphon out the bodies and do everything else the directions suggest.

Is there any onther advice on this. I think I am lucky enough to have the tank new enough (5 months) to do this. This will also give me a chance to re-aquascape my setup.

I am going too. I just want to take the livestock and live rock out. The live rock has a lot of qtip sponges that are dieing off and look nasty. This will give me a chance to scrub them clean. I figured by treating them in a seperate bin and the DT empty I can get good flow and control on syphoning them out.

Expect to keep doing it, it took me probably 6 treatments over the course of 6 months to finally stop them (for now)

I treated my tank twice and killed all of them. Its a good idea to use 25% more of the product than the recommended dosage. For tanks with sand the treatment is more difficult due to the worms living in the deeper sections of the sand. Good luck!

I'm getting ready to treat again also. Lil buggers come right up out of the sand with any kind of stirring. Soooo it's double up on the FWE time!! Yes, double your dose!!
