    ya i doubt you will find a quickie course in maui. in mexico and other tropical destinations the regulations are more laxed im sure and they need those quick bucks. in the states i am sure companies are more leary of getting sued by a new diver freaking out or maybe dying cause he/she doesnt know how to clear their mask or what how to breath off a free flowing reg. if you have the chance get certified and go to a resort that has scuba included, otherwise its about $60 per couple of dives. padi cert. is good for life.

    We dove 60+ feet down so maybe that's why I didn't like it. I had my SCUBA certification at the time but the guy that took us out (an underwater salvage guy) only had snuba on his boat and I hadn't brought my gear with me because I didn't want to lug it all on the plane.
