    One t5 bulb puts out more PAR than one T12.

    Ditch the actinics they have very low PAR. Buy ATI blue plus to replace them or the geisemann equivalent.

    i wasnt going to replace the T5 just add on the T12s on either side to complement... i have the ballast so why not?

    I agree add on the T12. I didn't mean ditch all the T5's, replace the actinics only.

    im not sure i got the unit used. im planning on getting all new bulbs - T5 and T12- any suggestions on the order/combo? i was thinking 2-T12 super actinic with white and purple in the T5

    If you are using actinic in the T12 put one bulb in the front and one in the back. Then get one UVL actinic white, one ATI aquablue special and two ATI blue plus.

    It is hard to say. Buy an extra aquablue and replace one of the blue pluses. Aquablue is about 12KK. Always good to have an extra bulb on hand.

    The T12 actinic is purple.
