Gold coral banded shrip lost pinchers and now fighting with mate

I have had a mated pair of gold coral banded shrimp for about 2 months and I just moved them to my new tank and while catching on it lost its pinchers. I know that they will grow back but the once mated pair is now fighting with each other. The shrimp with the missing arms will try to go see the other and gets chased away. Is it because it doesn’t recognize the other one or because of the missing limbs? Here is a pic from the previous tank just for fun . Thanks Rob.

 

That is a possibility, though i am no expert. I know that the claws are used for communication in most species, so it could be that it has caused an issue with the other shrimp wanting him/her around.

 

the pinchers will grow back, takes a month or two sometimes and they might stay away from each other until it does grow them back. did both sides come off or just the one? I have a 1 arm'd c.b.s. right now. He'll loose an arm and grow a bigger one back! It seems like it happens overnight too.

 

Both sides came off, it seems to be doing fine just hanging out away from the other shrimp.

 

They will grow back quickly, my buddy's just lost one claw and it grew back in like 2-3 weeks.

 

Took two molts for my CBS's pincers to come back full force.

I can't remember exactly where its from but it was two guys on tv who were trying to spin some body building exercise plan. Gotta love the early nineties
