Well i left for 2 weeks. I Came back and things were still looking good. Parameters are good and i only lost a clown fish which i thought i would lose anyway. My water was pretty low when i came back and my heater was somehow on 88. I have a 36 gallon and about 7 gallons had evaporated. After filling it back up and i did cold water to bring the temp down everything was fine. I woke up this morning and everything was fine. I left to go to my LFS and and 2 hours had passed and now i got gold stuff everywhere. What is this? My tank is about 6 months old. i already had a diatom bloom. Can someone please tell me what going on. I just got a red pipe organ coral and im scared to put him in there now

I would put money on it being from the new rock. The diatoms are consuming the silica from the new rock. Should go away on its own.
