Goniopora is listed as a highly aggressive coral. Are they aggressive to their own species? - ie. can I place several of them close to each other?

goni's also like "dirty" water. best placement is on the sand bed witth some light flow. and you wil lbe able to tell if one is making life difficult for the other.

Good luck with the Goni, they are one of the hardest corals to keep. Do some research before you actually buy it.

Word to the wise. Goniopora are called "rent-a-coral" and for good reason. You must feed each polyp individually which means turning off all flow and saturate it with Oyster Feast (preferably) and some Phytoplankton at least twice a week. Mine lasted about 4 mos.

And if it's a true Goni or Alveopora. Goni's are supposed to be harder to keep, both are better left in the ocean.

haha true, my uncle bought it last time he was home so right before thanksgiving. How could you possibly feed each head? that would take hours for a large colony? I don't turn off my pumps when I feed my corals so they might be getting some food that way, ie: if they eat pyto, or pods that i feed my scooter blenny, or some floating mysis shrimp.
