I could see the bio-wheel becoming an issue down the road. It will just build up with algae. I would suggested the Aqua-Clear fuge mod . and put a media bag over the filter intake.

Edit: I didn't realize you already had the tank/filter setup. I would just put macro algae in the filter compartment and ditch the wheel thing. Or use the smallest AC filter you can find.

yeah the smallest AC is huge for this thing! but the biowheel has a cool back area for a fuge and I just happen to have an extra 5 pounds of rock;)

OK, I'm all caught up. Looking good s far. I like the new filter you put on it. I would use the fake grasses for now, but try to switch over to real macros in the display to use as hitches.

I've heard of good luck with cactus culerpa, is this not correct, rayjay?

yeah, I think a light upgrade with macros will be in order, although that will entail a cyano/algae issue for sure! Theres something to be said for lower light, lower flow and lower temp! easier bacterial/algae and disease control;)

I could see why a yellower light and low flow might increase chances of cyano, but what difference would it be if plants were live or fake (in likelihood of cyano forming)?

yeah i think the cyano will be due to the flow, but i like the benefits of live algae. I think i need a 2 watt 6500k led light, just one;)
