its about time you get one of these going! ive got some advice for you you may want to decide to listen to.

first off, when it comes to getting dwarf seahorses dont be fooled with places that offer them for higher prices, there is no difference between a seahorse you buy at ccritters.com and one you get from seahorse.com besides the 75 dollar price tag and the 17 dollar price tag. sure they may be captive bred but these things do it like rabbits, you get a pair of wild caught ones. youll have a tank full of babies in no time.

second, with a tank that size, youll need quite a few horses. i had 3 pairs in a 2 gallon tank and i still had trouble finding them. it really helps you are doing black sand it makes them alot easier to see but you may need between 7-10 pairs, which is another reason why you should really go for a lower priced site.

Next, no tank mates. you cant even have live rock in the tank because there may be a hitchhiker crab JUST big enough to grab a horsey as a snack. even a harmless peppermint shrimp couldnt pass up that seahorse buffet. and also im sure you know they are not competitive feeders so definitely no oter fish in the tank, maybe a couple dwarf pipefish.

the tank looks great cosmo im looking foreward to see it completed.

also sorry if some people already brought up these points i was a little quick to make the reply i didnt read through the whole thread.

I would pay $ to come and see it in person!

On a serious note, this build is going to be sweet!!! idk if I can wait until the tank is done cycling!

Wow! How'd you stock it so fast? Lol

You could always do just Pipefish, or even Shrimpfish. I still like the idea of Seahorses, though ;D

Ahaha, hadn't seen ya around much, but knew you'd show up, was hoping so;) And I agree with everything you said. i'm ordering a little under your recommendation, but 5 pairs. She's giving me a a great deal with some pods and decapsulated brine shrimp and we're setting up a auto decapsulated brine shrimp delivery thing. I know I can do it for cheaper, but not much cheaper than she's doing it for;) Could I get the horses for cheaper somewhere, yes, but she takes the extra steps of making sure they're healthy, eating etc. And she's very thorough with helping you make sure you're ready. So I'll pay a little bit extra for customer service like that. Heck 1 guy tired to sell me 100 horses for the 5 g to start and said no big deal!

    But thanks for the advice;)

WOW! that is great!! I'd love that tank.;)

So far the cycle seems to be flying, but its been awhile for me to cycle, hows this sound, in 48 hours
amm went from 1.0 to .25
trites went from barely to 1.0-2.0
    trates started showing up

Only prob I have is, tank is running at 77 degrees, I want it at 70, may have to put a fan on it, but I hate that thought, evap will suck!
