I have a 55 gallon aquarium and am making it a small reef tank. I have a lighting system of 2X65 Watt and 2X65 Watt Actinic. 8 bulb moonlight. Is this enough? If this isnt enough what would I need that is affordable. I am on disablity and have been selling Native American Artifact's to get this far. Thank you for your time.

    Hi Cold shot
it depends on what you want to keep - not all corals have symbiottoc aglae and thus dont photosynthesise - some filter feed and as such those species are less dependent on light
if its your 1st reef tank - you will probably/ hopefully want to start with the easier to keep species - and IMHO - species like Button polps, Mushroom colonies, soft finger corals , toadstool corals, leather corals - and green star poly colonies - would all do OK under your current lighting - I say this having kept said species under 6 x 40 watt T10s some time ago (240 watts) and your lighting exceeds that.

a well set up display of relatively easy corals - can look fantastic
