Hello very one, end of next month I am going to Las Angela's to visit a friend.
I was wondering what Local fish stores were around and what anyone thought of the Aquarium in that area. Thanks. Hurray for vacation.

What area exactly? How far would you like to drive in either direction?

The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach is a good place to visit if you want to see a public aquarium. We've been members for years.

    As for LFS,

Tong's in Fountain Valley is a good place to go as they generally have a lot of stock at any given time.

Amazing Aquariums & Reefs in Orange is another good one, esp. if you love acans.

Neptune's Reef is in Torrance a bit closer, but is more weighted towards fishes, not a lot of corals. Some peeps think John can be a bit crusty, but he and I get along very well.

I can't speak for the shops north of the South Bay any longer, as I haven't been to any of them recently, and I know a few have closed.

If you'd be willing to go to North Hollywood, there's a shop called Rainbow Pet Shop. Amazing shop, highly recommend it.

smoothhounds and piranhas that they get fined for seems twice a year lol
    decent shops:

Heres a list of the shops in the San Fernando Valley. (About 30min drive north from where you are staying). Now this is from our maintenance company point of view

Marks Tropical - Studio City - Decent prices, good selection, some staff are douches ;p
Rainbow Pet - Arleta - Family owned, they at times have wonderful corals. Wide fish option. one of the better stores for african cichlids
Underwater Deport - Sherman Oaks - One owners cool, the others a ******. Great staff. Decent for corals, but they are pricey as of the area they are in. fish are hit and miss
Vivid Aquariums - Canoga Park ........can you say over priced? ;p but one of the larger selections of frags
Exotic Life - Chatsworth - great spot for exotic freshwater stuff and reptiles
Blue Lagoon - Van Nuys - nothing really of note here, jsut basic fw stuff
Aquarium City - Canoga Park - Great place to buy fish if you are looking for parasites..sorry, its a fact, we've had issues with a number of our service clients.
