    Freshwater fish and plants, birds, and just about every imaginable (at least in my mind) saltwater fish and coral

    Unique Corals, while not a "LFS", might let you in if you contact them: Unique Corals Home Page... They are in Van Nuys

    Reef Playground is a good LFS to check out. Great stuff there. Serge does it right.

    If you are going to be in Santa Monica, then hit up Medusa's on Pico and Bundy.

    For public aquariums - Santa Monica Pier aquarium is a good place to check out. Also, Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, CA or Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in San Pedro.
