Ok. lets have it. what are some of the good lights out there and what are the bad (jebo being one of them) all kinds MH, t5, compact. lets here your oppinions weather it is for a coral tank, just fish, or for both. yea its kinda for me but i think this will be a good fourm for the people new to the hobbie.

PS id rather give up this hobbie than own another jebo. for starters the one i bought would shock me. i fixed the poor ok very poor wireing in it and it worked for a bit but now the ballast is going out. i have a current on loan and its just a compact but so far it works very nice the little cooling fan died in it though but it was easy to replace and was cheep.

I am using Hamilton DE HQI 250 and 400 watt metal halide pendants and love them! Bought them at saltycritter.com(one of our sponsors)!
There are many quality fixtures and bulbs on the market that have a proven track record and strong recommendations...
Research and also think about the types of corals that you would like to keep in your tank and that should help you narrow your list somewhat IMO!

As CF said, I've heard nothing but EXCELLENT on the Hamilton bulbs (even better than the XM or whatever)

If youre not set on MH, any of the TEK fixtures are awesome (birchell chime in here) and for best results look into individual reflectors (for each bulb) as opposed to a spread reflector across all of the bulbs.

^As long as you dont want to keep any SPS or clams....and you will (like i want) T5 is MORE than enough...and even enough for many clams (excluding maxima and crocea - for a "happy" clam)

HTH, and I apologize if that post has things you are already aware of...if so, ignore it :p
