Peppermints do eat aiptasia, the problem is that they're getting their food when you feed your fish, so they dont pay attention to the aiptasia. Try target feeding your fish little by little. When the peppers arent getting the leftovers, they'll hit the aiptasia.

thought as much - got concered after reading another post -ok i took the tube out into a seperate bowl submerged the anenomies and twezzewed them both off - thought it'd come of in one piece - how wrong was I, anyway feather dusters back in with no anenomie on it, so hopefully they won't growback - if they do does i'll do the same again!! thanks for the responses.

p.s. pepermint and skunk shrimp completely different right?, just wondering as i have a skunk.

Dont' tweez them off , this will make them multiply faster. There many ways to get rid of aiptasia, I've heard of use a syringe and pump lemon juice into them of a product called joes juice works well also.

Joe's Juice is a disaster waiting to happen! All that stuff ever did in my tank was create an army of tiny aiptasias everywhere. It does disintegrate an aiptasia with authority. The problem is that if any part of the aiptasia lives it will regrow, and those pesky little chunks like to blow everywhere. I know many people here may disagree, but I have used Berghia verrucicornis and found them to be very effective. Other livestock like Copperbands and peppermint shrimp seem to be hit and miss plus they may eat other stuff they aren't supposed to. I have also heard good stuff about Aiptasia X but personally I will never use a chemical on them again.

I would like to hear more about lemon juice because my LFS is now saying they have had great results but some people on here claim it is useless.

That is another type of feather duster. They are segmented worms. They're cool and a good sign that your LR is healthy and your tank params are appropriate.

Me too. Worms are so underrated!;D Hey, I forgot to include a site for purchasing Berghia, if anyone is interested. Interestingly, they have started carrying them at my LFS. I guess someone local to me breeds them. Anyway, this lady is very nice and my experience was very positive. Had a buddy by them plus some coral from her and he was very happy too.
