good or bad crab

    We caught this crab and I want to know is it good or bad. I think it is bad as it tried to get my finger but hubby said my finger is huge to it and it was scared lol

    can you get a picture of his claw. usually you can tell buy the claw size. if its big it eats fish if its small it eats algae. i would say compare it to a emerald crab.

    of course this doesn't mean it wont pick on corals. i would take it to the lfs if it turns out to be dangerous, that way you don't have to kill it

    yea you probably can't tell by wether or not it attacks your finger. it has a little crab brain to it you are a predator

    I can't get a better picture but the claws are pointy like it could stab something lol

    I was searching hitch hiker crabs and the crab we found has claws like the gorilla crab

    If it is a gorilla crab you need to get rid of it!

    OMG, I have the same crab but you got a MUCH better pic, do you think its by any chance a urchin or zebra crab? Just a shot in the dark... hope this post brings light to the ID'n

    I was not able to get a pic last time when I posted under " ID this" but here is a pic does this look the same? :confused:


    I have not seen much of this crab, thankfully I have not lost anything to my knowledge, not on drift wood....

    well I think I am going to get rid of it to be on the safe side. When in doubt toss it out
