I was looking for some advice if I should buy this "live rock" from craigslist.

    Here's a link,
Fiji Live Rock and Live Sand for Sale

I only want the 40 pounds of live rock. I emailed him and he said that he would let it go for $90. BUT... it's a 45 minute drive one way. I've seen a prior post where a member was buying 50 pounds of base rock for $85 (including shipping).

link - 50 POUNDS OF DRY BASE CORAL REEF LIVE ROCK - eBay (item 140341277076 end time Sep-21-09 06:07:00 PDT)

So my question bears down to should I get the craigslist "live rock" or should I wait? 2.25 a pound isn't terrible, but I feel like I could get better.

Ooo yea, I'm setting up a 90 gallon reef with a 20L sump. I would like to do fishless cycleing. I have some base rock in it, but only about 10 pounds I got for free.

The first link doesn't give a price, unless it's really a dollar, and the second one isn't a bad deal. I prefer dry base rock anyways, as you know exactly what you are adding to your tank.

It depends on what you want, if you want already fully "live" rock the first ones a good deal, the second on is dry base rock and IMO looks ulgy, id rather add live rock.

Thats a good point about the base rock. He is asking $90 for the live rock. Would I be able to do a fishless cycle with mostly base rock and only a couple peices of live rock?
