helfrichi firefish, 100% reef safe, usually goes for $150, tiny but beautiful, only down side is very shy and takes a while to come out but otherwise very easy fish, worth every penny

B grade Picasso Clowns, Magnificent Shrimp Goby (and a Pistol shrimp if you'd like it to pair up), Mystery Wrasse, Purple Tang - I think it's prettier than most of the more "rare" tangs.

With the tank only being a 72g I believe? I would say a Chevron Tang, Goes through an amazing color change.

Also I do believe some of the Zebrasoma Family (sailfin tangs, yellow, purple, gem etc) Are with caution... I haven't had an issue with my Purple tang at all. But I do feed my fish pretty well.

Chevrons get very big. I would never try one in a 72g.

There a re a ton of fish thatare semi rare and great reef fish.

I like the flame wrasse option, but there are several wrasses I would go with personally.

Lineatus wrasse, rhomboid wrasse, the list goes on and on for sweet wrasses.

I agree with getting a wrasse. I think wrasses have some of the most beautiful colors and patterns of any fish. They are definitely eye catching!

Here's my limited knowledge on these fish:
*The fairy wrasse is a great fish. My LFS owner pushes these fish like crazy because he loves them so much.
*Powder blue tangs are really hard to keep and very disease prone (I've heard).
*Emperor angel is gorgeous, but will get too big. Just in case you don't upgrade, then you'd have to sell him, give him away, etc.
*Blue Girdled Angel I've never heard of, but doing quick searches says minimum of 70-75 gallons, so it would probably be okay. And it's gorgeous!!!

I don't know much, just thought I'd contribute!
