good RO-DI system, need to know now. at the store!

Take it from me. I rushed my first setup and after 1 year im revamping the whole thing! Take your time and don't cut corners on important equipment. The RO/DI is def one of them. Check out bulkreefsupply.com they have some VN RO/DI units

 

The rejection on the consumer (drinkable) units are less than reef intended units. Reef units will filter out 99% of the TDS where regular human consumption units will filter much less than that, 80-90%.
For a few bucks more on ebay, you can get a good reef model.

If you do buy from them online do you have to get the filters through them also when they need to be replaced?

 

Probably not but I don't know. When I bought it I also bought a set of replacement filters and have not even changed them yet. Gets me think'in. :

 

I second that, I also purchased a second set and haven't used them yet. You can find some great buys on e-bay with an extra set of filters almost for free.

Also building the tank is part of the fun, Part of the sense of accomplishment, no need to rush it.

Many kenmore units require non standard filters - so check that and consider the cost of replacements...
