In all honesty, if $170 for a new tank sounds like a lot of money, you may want to rethink starting this whole venture.

I really like rimless tanks but that is over triple the price of a ordinary rimmed tank. For that price i could go to my local fish store pick up a 29 gallon and and stand. and maybe even have some money left over for dinner lol.

It sounds like a lot of money compared to the rimmed version i can pick up for 55 dollars at my local fish store. I am aware that for larger tanks the price tag is well into the thousands of dollars range. Just stating that 170 is a lot for a tank that if it came with a rim it would be 1/3 the cost

We are not busting on you. If you feel like it is a lot then that is the way you feel. We appreciate all opinions so ;D. There are a lot of options out there and cost more than others. Someone else had mentioned craigs list so keep your eye out for deals and steals. The real cost is going to come in with the lights, protein skimmer, fuge, etc.. On craigs list you may just get everything you need for under $200.00.

I hope you can find the deal you are looking for just keep looking around.. not rushing anything in this hobby is always best strategy.

    Happy hunting..

I know no one is bashing me. But I have a tank I was just looking to upgrade to a 29 and I wanted something nice so I wanted rimless.

i bought a 33.6g mr rimless from marine depot. nice dimensions, but i would rather have a 40 breeder than the mr aqua rimless just for the extra length.

I second my own statement of craiglist....even more so with the budget conversation. I think that price is a good deal for a brand new rimless though.

For $350 I got my Oceanic 57 rimless, with sump, custom steel stand, skimmer, PHs, heaters, top off reservoir....pretty much the whole set up without lights (he had sold his LEDs for real cheap before I called). Also gave me hundreds of dollars in brand new supplements, testing equipment, measuring stuff, containers, 5gal water containers and just all the little things I needed that you dont think of. The only thing I regret is not paying the extra 100 for his MP10. I was too new at the time and didnt realize I would want one. I bought one a few months later lol.

People just want to dump it all....when they are done....they are done. Maybe the wife is over it, or it recently crashed, or the cant afford it, or whatever....but I know many that have found amazing bundles
