Take it from someone who grew up in the seventies. The music was great, but it's like everything else. If you're not moving you're standing still. Know what I mean?

Don't worry someone like snoop dog who has the talent of an ant will come along and do a remix (takes lots of talent) and talk over the top of a great song. (takes even more talent) and make a million dollars off of it..............

    Hey Bruce,
All you have to do is load the "Classic" Rock and Roll into the magic little box called I-Pod. ;D No commercials, No 50 cent, No Emin Enima!!!

You know I love the 70's music which had meaning. The music today just talks about getting into someone "candy shop" or being in love with a striper. What are they trying to teach our children.

But i have to stand up for "Eminem" the words he speaks are true with the F_ _ _ Bush this and F _ _ _ Bush that! As for all these rappers like 50, I guess with the name 50cent he feels that he has been robbed by the white man although we are the minority when it comes to music, TV and Movies just about everything these days.

Not being racist but have you ever seen the White Music Awards(no not CMA) or a White college fund Assoc?

That is what happened to the 70's music!

HHMMM interesting. Does Music and television reflect the times? Influence the times? Being an "old guy" I have had the luck of being raised to music from the birth of Rock and Roll to the hip hop gangsta craze. If the music doesnt reflect the time where would Fitty cent as he is pronounced get his music? What would have become of those long haired boys from Liverpool if they were censored and ran off? Politics in music is an easy subject choose one side or the other and you are instantly popular with that group. 80's grunge music was aimed at depressing teenagers...wow talk about an easy putt just come watch my daughter and her friends, someone is always worried or depressed. Want to hear more music that sounds like CCR? Listen to todays Country music its come a long way from Momma got run over by a train on the way home from prison. My point here is that music is a direct reflection of what is happening in the world around us currently. Besides music has always had its "dirty" sides too, Dont believe me go find the song Strokin' by Clarence Carter or even more mainstream Foreigner's Hot Blooded change a few words to the F-bomb and .50 could be rapping it right now

Couldn't say it any better Phil! Could you see .50cent on stage raping to "Stroken it" or something by the Door.

I feel that music is only going to get worse until we as the people of this great land gets back in control.

To be young again in the days of the Dire Straits or the Bee Gees. Love and Peace, not make my money Bi&@h. But like phil said music represents what is going on in the world that we have created.

    What is the cure?

the cure is to do what i do. never turn the television to mtv or vh1, and never listen to the radio. iPods are the key to musical life.
