I have to say that I am NOT in favor of using Tunzes for a wave maker. I have two Tunze Streams in my 120 right now and they did not work well at all in this role. Mine tend to rattle on start up and will reverse flow as well. I love them for a circ pump, though.

I just bought Sicce Voyagers and have been running them for about a month now on my wave maker and they are quiet and have no issues. They are also less expensive. I wrote a review on them in the equipment section of the boards.

Hard to say. The 40w rated quiet one 3000 made more flow (visual and hand check) than the 93w mag9.5 did. This was the exact same manifold, just a reducer to allow the mag to be mounted. The QO while lower flow rated (780gph) has a bigger MPT outlet.

Sicce and hydor have been in the business for a long time now. Both are European, just like Tunze. Tunze still uses DC power instead of the less expensive AC power the sicce and hydors use.

I look at it as newer tech less expensive quality components. Tunzes, while nice have been leapfrogged badly in technology. You would think that tunze would reduce the price of their old line until they come out with new tech gadgets to compete. Tunzes R&D, and infrastructure for the old streams, new ones too I bet, have been paid for over and over.

Sounds like you should be fine as is. The tunze stuff wouldn't work with anything but tunze streams.

Are you running them on the Tunze controller with controllable powerheads or just an on/off wavemaker? If you're not using the Tunze controller with their controllable powerheads that would be why you're not getting good results from them, they aren't designed for that. Just thought I'd clarify that.

Koralia still use a mechanical stop

The Evo Koralia still use a mechanical stop and are not as quiet as the voyagers. They also are not easy to mount to the rear wall like the Voyagers.

Having done long term testing on both I would debate those statements. I sold the Voyagers in favor of the Evolutions based on my personal test results.
I did like the adjustability of the Voyager brackets but they fall off the brackets every time you touch them and it takes two hands to expand the bracket and reinstall them, needs work for sure.

The mounting on the Evolutions make them totaly silent.

The biggest advantage is the 6 watts of power consumption versus 16 watts or more and thats comparing the Evo 1400 to the Voyager 3 which pumps less water.
