    That is not a possiblility atm lol my gf would be so mad at me.
    I can not find a place with affordable rock any suggestions?
    I already have lighting and filters/powerheads worked out.

    Buy dry rock it will run you much less. Aquascapers, a sponsor here, Bulk Reef Supply and Marco Rocks are good places to check out. Just buy 5 to 10 lbs of live rock to start the cycle.

    I have only bought dry rock from reefcleaners and it's abt $2 a lbs with free shipping.

    great find. I never get any deals!

    A good rule of thumb for reef is 1lb rock per gallon. I tend to do a little more to start......even if it means I put some in my sump.

    I would do a reef if i were you! Keep us posted

    Great find, I bet you could find a 30 gallon scruffy sump for almost nothing on craigs or kajiji.

    IMO gut the current light and put in LED's and make it a macro algae soft/LPS coral reef;D

    It depends on the type of rock IMHO. It depends on how porous it is. Typically rule of thumb is 1lb per gallon. I personally have 65lbs in my 125gal tank. It is a ton of rock because they are large super pourous pieces. But, get dry rock saves tons of money, it will be live soon enough and you don't have to worry about strange hitch hikers.
    Oh, and you are pretty brave to water test it on your carpet lol!!

    Had no other place to leak test it lol.

    I live in a apt atm. On the second floor also...

    Hope it holds with sand/stand/rock/inhabitants

    Don't know when i will have 150 plus for rock maybe 2 weeks
