So, I ended so just getting the 4 bulb T5 fixture instead of the 2 bulb that I have. I currently have the 20" AquaticLife but the 4 bulb is actually the 24" fixture instead. Higher wattage, 4x24w and if I want to down the road I will be upgrading tank size to a 20gal. Not even half the amount of heat transfer compared to MH. $125 + 8 new bulbs to go with it I think was too good of a deal to pass up! My acros will be happy! I will be placing my 3 led strips on it too.... So I have lots of color to play around with. I'm gunnq be doing it for hours!!! LOL

I think that was a good choice. I say go for a 20 and use the 10 and old lights as a fuge. No time like the present. :)

Great suggestion. You will need to carefully acclimate yor tank to the light or you will wipe out your coral.

The tank looks georgious! I'll have to post pics!
Yea, I am gunna be careful with acclimation.
I actually have one actinic and one 10k that is set on one timer switch and the other actinic and 10k on another. So that way I can turn on only one 10k and actinic and keep the other 2 off for acclimation then turn them all on when they are ready. Just using 2 10k and 2 actinics at the moment. I will be choosing other bulbs later on. I also have my one blue led strip and a pink led strip on the fixture! I have never seen my tank look so good.
It's roughly 100w of light for my 10gal lol That's a lot! Lol

Your best bet is to use some window screen mesh to diffuse the light some. Your also still gonna get a lot of heat in that tank from those lights, which has no fan.
