got a fancy knobby brittle star today, anyone know much about them?

    i put him in my 75g which is where my three inch peacock, and 1 1/2 n. oerstedii is. hopefully mantis wont mess with him, anyone have brittle star in tank wit there mantis?

    i have a Brittle but no mantis. I don't feed him he just feeds him self normally lol

    I don't know much about the dietary habits of mantis shrimp but just a word of caution for future reference. Seeing a picture of something, or even someone telling you "this works for me" doesn't necessarily mean it's a good idea or will work for you, or anyone else really. People sometimes make bad/uninformed choices or figure that 2 weeks (or even 2 months) is a good judgement of success.

    Good luck with the star though, you might consider taking it back and see if they will give you a refund, otherwise I guess your mantis might get to have some fun. :)

    i figure hw will be ok, because i have purple lobsters, hermits, and other inverts and fish in there with the mantis, and he doesnt mess with anything except snails, as i feed him crabs often, and a brittle star is not part of their natural diet, plus the star is bigger han my peacock, peacock is about three inches, its been 24 hours and so far o good, the mantis has paid the star no attention at all. just walks right past it
